Is Revenge Justifiable?

Revenge. Can revenge be justified?Sweet hook right? To be honest, I am having a difficult time starting this final post. Because of this, i have chosen to start this final post with the conclusion of my latest post...

Finally i come up with something a little bizarre. Have you ever though of the fact that revenge may be an actual living, breathing force? It seems to have too much of a drastic effect on peoples lives for it to be simply ignored. Is it possible that this "goddess of revenge," Nemesis, may actually exist? Her influence is its own force. Maybe this is why it is so impossible to resist revenge. You are trying to resist a goddess. A being that is immortal and godly, with the power to influence an entire world. We may just have to accept the fact that there is no way out of revenge.

There are several ways I can go about this final blog. I guess I can explore my peer’s opinions on the subject of my idea of revenge. It seems that people aren’t that surprised that I chose revenge as my topic. Honestly I’m not too surprised myself. I really enjoy writing about this kind of stuff, however the multitude of tones in which I switch between seems to be not too popular. “I do think its pretty funny how you talk so sophisticated in these posts though, because we all know that’s not how you really talk buddy.” I guess I use so many different tones because I like to target my readers’ emotions. When I want the reader to feel as if the moment is intense, I word it in a sort of harshly rushed and rough manner.

Stepping back into revenge, I will tell you my form of revenge. I like to think. I will carefully plan out any and every detail necessary to break my target. There is no such thing as “dude chill out” or “give me a break”. No! My revenge is not a form of orderly chaos but just the opposite. I breed chaos from order like a disease that is created in order to control a population. It spreads in an effective way that causes others to want to take revenge. Maybe I am Nemesis. Despite the fact that I am not a women, nor am I godly in any shape or form, I share the same attributes as the goddess. My need for revenge drives me like a spike as it enters the cold hard flesh of steel when creating a railroad. The sweetness is like an ecstasy. Only through continued use does the drug become dangerous enough to drive a person to madness. This “madness” cannot be over come through earthly means. You will have to delve elsewhere in order to rid yourself of the truth behind my justified revenge. It will drive you to such an insanity that your spirit will quiver in the hollow earthly shell you call a body. Revenge is not to be a simple means of power or pain; it is chaos at its core. The root of which upholds the tree from which all other chaos’s are born. The fruit of chaos is impossible is what brought sins upon this vengeful world. Adam, Eve, and even Pandora were not able to resist the temptation of chaos. The fruit was too tempting. The box was too hard to resist. Doesn’t this all explain revenge? Doesn’t this seem as if the roots of revenge started with the roots of humanity?

The very root of our damnation has to deal with the truth about us. This truth involves the acceptance of our chaotic ways. Without truly understanding what we are, the things we do, and why we do them, we can never improve upon our mistakes. In some beliefs, these “mistakes” can be known as sins. Sins or “mistakes” are actions that are invoked from the chaos that resides in the deepest corner of every cell in all of our bodies. In some sense, Nemesis has already won her battle against the world. One thing that may be misunderstood about our friend Nemesis, is that she is not only the goddess of revenge, but the goddess of balance as well. In which case, it would make it seem as if revenge is the chaos that balances out the order in our lives. By this, i mean that there is the possibility that revenge is can be justified through the balance it creates in nature. Nature is all about balance. Since nature itself is created from the constant struggle for power between chaos and order, revenge (chaos) can be justified as a weight on the opposite end of a scale.

Revenge: My Truth

            Revenge: My Truth

Alas, proof has presented itself to me. I’ve managed to gather some Intel from the agent of chaos himself. Most people can pretty much guess who the main subject is in this particular blog. I will not reveal this harbinger of revenges’ name. All I can tell you is that he is the Nemesis of our western civilization. (Nemesis: Greek goddess of Revenge)

An interview with a dear friend:

Me: Are you a fan of Revenge?

JC: Absolutely

Me: When was your last revenge scheme?

JC: A week ago. My classmates mocked me for terrible advisory snacks, so I put laxative in the food when I brought snacks.  But I alerted those who defended me

Me: So there your form of revenge is selective? Ok, cool, but why do you take revenge?

JC: I’ve never been seen as a powerful threat, but I’ve always been cunning. I realized that this is my power and I can use it to outsmart and defeat those who look down on me or make me mad.

Me: Do you enjoy taking revenge?

JC: I love vengeance. It brings satisfaction...reminds the target that I am powerful and that I command respect.

Me: What does it feel like to get revenge?

JC: Getting revenge gives me the incredible feeling of power, something almost impossible for me at this point in my life. If I was given power, I would use it justly, however, in these situations I’ve been challenged and I feel like the target has challenged me to win. So I think and I win. It is a perverse combination of joy. Its almost like a hook. Once I get it I always want more.

Me: Is getting revenge hard to resist?

JC: Yes, very! Some people are untouchable, and I just have to accept that.

So that’s what goes on in his mind then. Who knew what that kid was thinking? I really did find it interesting how he related his revenge to power. It almost seems as if revenge itself is a form of power. Throughout this interview I have found that people not only seek revenge because of its satisfaction, but for the fact that it grants them immeasurable power. The infinite capabilities of revenge are in fact limitless. I, after the interview, looked back on my past revenges and have found that a lot of them had to do with either power or control. This kids words have brought a new revelation into existence. Not only can you become obsessed with revenge but also you can become obsessed with the power that revenge gives you. In this world power seems to be everything.  I know I used the word “everything” but power does indeed have its perks.
Now all of this made me think. I sat in my room for a bit, wondering what else causes revenge. I sat there by my teenage scattered desk as my consciousness drifted. At one point I could see myself sitting there and thinking about the true source of revenge. Just when the gears that were working themselves over time in my head were about to collapse, the product of my imagination came to life. Like Frankenstein, the idea rose to life, sparking inside my head with loose bolts. Once I pieced it together I found out that the source of revenge, isn’t just pain or power. Revenge, is a form of chaos. The world bends towards chaos do to the aging of humanity. Unknowingly we create chaos. We satisfy ourselves by saying that we can create some form of “order”, however order can only be bread from chaos. What I am trying to say is that, revenge is and orderly form of chaos. It is thought out, molded, and perfected in order to strike the deepest pain in the target. Targeting the person to the point that their chance is hopeless.
Eh... oh well. Good Luck!
